This administration is cooked. Literally no one is scared of them.

Considering that we hardly get any snow here, this was yesterday, at Belltall, in the province of Tarragona. Jumped out of the car for five minutes, with freezing wind and the wrong kind of shoes, to size some memories.

We need to pressure social platforms owners to label AI generated media as such. This can be done by training AI or through machine learning algorithms, and is relatively easy to implement. We are on a collision of no longer being able to tell what is real and what is not.
I regret to inform you the head of Instagram quietly announced last month that videos on the platform he runs can no longer be trusted to be real and it is only a matter of time before that becomes the immediate authoritarian response to any atrocity www.theverge.com/news/852124/...

The silent digital revolution no one is talking about.
This. Everything here. This is what the ATmosphere is about. If you're just looking at Bluesky as a Twitter clone, you're missing something much, much, much bigger, and much more important.

Get in, folks, we're rebuilding the entire web, with you in control.

Europeans deserve safer digital spaces and real alternatives to US-based platforms.

We urge the Commission to:
- Invest in European tech initiatives.
- Support the development of user-focused, European-owned networks.
- Guarantee robust data portability rights for all users.

Looking forward for @eurosky.social to head in a similar direction once it's up and running.
Blacksky @blackskyweb.xyz now has its own servers running the network

This means they're able to run their own feature development and moderation policies, while still connecting to Bluesky through the shared Atmosphere network!

s/o to @rude1.blacksky.team and the blacksky team for amazing work

Don't want to sound alarmist but just did a search on "Potential US action regarding US digital services in a war against Europe scenario" and yes Trump could issue an executive orders to restrict or modify the operations of U.S.-based digital services to "safeguard national security". Shop locally.

While we scuttle for European based digital alternative services, @surfshark.bsky.social is a great VPN service based in the Netherlands. You get a whole security suite with it, a great antivirus and an extra ID which you can use with sites you don't trust with your data 😎

I am on the lookout for a European service that provides cloud hosting with a indexing similar to Google Photo and can transfer all the media I got on Google with one click. Have downloaded all my stuff but Google splits it in to files that I would take weeks to recompile. Any suggestions welcome.

We could compare Trump to a large asteroid which is about to hit the planet, with all humanity working together to divert the impact.

The Dutch should claim back New Amsterdam.
More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

Creative idea of the day: a mass picnic on Trump's golf courses in Scotland and Ireland. Bring dogs, unruly children with small spades, and set free a whole colony of randy rabbits.

Not as spectacular as when the starlings do their moving clouds formations, but this is the second phase, when they prepare to land on trees to spend the night. They break up and dive in full free-fall towards the nearest branch.

Started snooping around for a mini laptop made in the EU for writing on the go, and came acros the super customisable and modular MNT Pocket Reform which looks like something that escaped Stranger Things and could withstand nuclear Armageddon. It has also a mechanical keyboard, so it's on my list.

Why can I subscribe to repetitive mono-cultural pap offered by Netflix, Disney, Amazon, etc. but by living in Europe I cannot subscribe to the Criterion Channel? Luckily we have @filmin.es here in Spain but this will be one of my forever gripes. @criterionchannl.bsky.social

Watching the protest in Copenhagen live on stream.place. The quality of the video could improve but you can see where @stream.place is heading. Kudos to the developers and keep Greenland free!

The financial industry is a major road block for climate change mitigation. Our research shows the beneficiaries of sticking with fossil capital: the super rich.

Great to see our chart republished by the Balanced Economy Project!

Very interesting new @balancedeconomy.bsky.social report setting out the links between concentration of ownership in the financial sector and climate damage.

Here's one killer graph: over half of fossil fuel profits to the top 1% in the US.
