I wonder why someone would use this tool if for no other purpose to steal an image and not credit its author. More great stuff by AI.

We may be the last generation to experience a progressive democracy. Everything is sliding back, dismantled by a far right forging alliances with conservative forces and making inroads everywhere. Like Icarus, we were got too close to the sun and it melted our wings, the dream lost as we fell.

This has been documented far and wide. Close city centres to traffic and local businesses and quality of life will take off.

Technology should no longer be wasteful. Great engineering from Finland.
#Finland has turned cold weather into an advantage. Massive underground #datacenters — filled with thousands of servers — generate enormous heat. This energy is redirected through district heating systems to warm entire city blocks, apartments, and public buildings #heating #ActOnClimate

Would recommend Cinefex issue 9, 1982 - all Bladerunner. I think it talks about the lack of money resulting in the rain-filled, dark, neon scenes hiding the gaps in the scenery

Democracy is being replaced by far right parties controlled by extreme ideology, billionaires + large corporation, and people will vote for them like lambs led to slaughter. By mimicking their discourse instead of providing a clear contrast, centrist parties have made far right ideology mainstream.
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

Testing a script on the uBlock firefox extension that blocks a lot of AI slop from showing as a search result, because this is really growing out of control.

Watching Blade Runner again. Made in 1982, It was one of the last major production made with pure special effects (no CGI), and it's still amazing.

Always thought of Children of Men as the most accurate depiction of the future. It is set in 2027 and we are nearly there.
Being reminded of 'Children of Men' for all the wrong reasons, today.

My personal experience is that @archive.org has been vital in recovering website content erased by hackers, negligence, lack of funds or human errors. It needs to be preserved in the equivalent of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault as an information library for future generations.
Words really can’t express how important @archive.org is in the world of information science, but it’s also pivotal to preserving digital histories targeted and then erased by the federal government as well. If you can?

The horrific legacy of the Spanish Civil War: the land of the 6.000 mass graves. An estimated 140.000 people were murdered by those loyal to Franco and 49.000 by the republicans. This interactive map documents the location of each burial and the history of those who perished.

Decentralisation is key for more flexibility. Glad to hear this continues to be a priority.
Our goal is to enforce policies so people can have a good time, learn something. If you don’t like our policies or trust our decisions, there will be other places with other policies you can go soon. We exist to provide choice. We’re working as quickly as we can to decentralize fully.
