The PS2 launched 25 years ago in North America!

The PS2 had arguably the greatest exclusives lineup ever.

If you wanted JRPGs, you needed a PS2.
If you wanted 3D Platformers, you needed a PS2.
If you wanted variety in any genre, you needed a PS2.

Same. The only real formats worth getting at this point to access as many games as possible are PC and Switch 2 (but even then only for Nintendo games and 3rd party exclusives)

At this point PS5/6 are worth getting for the few exclusives (like Astro Bot) or for collecting physical media.
