The reason for Darius' bodily change can be seen in the corner panel, where Ren is curled up in the fetal position while being hugged by the womb deep in the belly of the beast. The cat has a most serene, blissful expression with eyes closed in a soft sleep; an umbilical cord is visible inside the uterus, attached to Ren to fully realize the snake's pregnancy. The womb gives its resident a nice soft hug, the flesh just as soft as stated before while conforming just right to the feline's size and shape. A most loving conclusion...
