I notice Karoline Leavitt didn't wear her 2-lb. golden cross, because she knew she had to tell some particularly grievous lies today ...
As Karoline Leavitt concludes her press briefing and walks off, @andrewfeinberg.com asks: "What was the president doing with Virginia Giuffre for hours at Epstein's house?"

She did not respond.

This is a huge step backward.

Legalising the blaming of victims should be rejected, and introducing "past behavior" is this.

It is of no relevance what any person did in their past in a trial about a rape. Just as what they had for breakfast has no bearing on it.

Judges say Scottish courts are risking right to fair trial in sex cases
The landmark ruling by the UK Supreme Court could trigger multiple legal challenges by men convicted of sexual offences.

Doesn't really feel right that a known zionist guardian columnist can libel Frankie Boyle and they print some tiny hidden retraction and apology and its fine.

Said columnist should have to start his next column with the apology and Guardian should be taking disciplinary action.

The lockdown proved that it was completely workable to "work from home", yet because political donors are landlords who need office space let everyone is being bullied back to offices.

Its quite the statement that because you don't understand how working from home is possible you force everyone

the entirety of the british press talked themselves into believing this woman is trans based almost entirely on JK Rowling's judgement of the athlete's appearance.
Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

A news source is only trusted so long as the viewers are not seeing the truth.
When you finally see truth it casts a long shadow over historical reporting and you can't put genies back into bottles.

Part of the retro-fascist nonsense driving farage.co.uk is driven by historical false BBC reporting
Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

Shame the BBC chose to pull back the curtain around 2014 and show the years of trust were misplaced.
Quick thread on the BBC and the political and societal significance of recent developments:

One of the main reasons the UK has historically been so much less polarised than the US, is that Britain has a shared source of information, consumed and trusted by most people regardless of their politics.

But THIS WAS ALWAYS TRUE - LABOUR

The only reason dimwit Reeves is "hinting" she could do this is to test the backlash.

If its too severe they will pretend like they never would have.
NEW: Rachel Reeves signals she intends to remove the two-child cap *in full*

"I don't think a child should be penalised because they're in a bigger family through no fault of their own," she tells BBC.

If the BBC offers Trump even a penny to settle then no-one should ever pay tv tax again.

(Not that anyone should have to anyway)

Astonishing that heads roll for some weird edit of an American president, but sticking a Russian hat on the leader of the opposition and putting him in Red Square was just a valid editorial decision.

Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

This is a substantive study into the costs of Brexit and adds to the evidence that the cost as estimated by the OBR of 4% GDP is accurate or perhaps an under-statement - which also tallies with people's perceptions. The UK has simply become less competitive.
