“My heart has joined the Thousand, for my friend stopped running today”

Good lord man, what are you doing?!? The usual suspects are going see this and start asking why "they" took away the mercury that everyone used to keep in their kitchen by the cupful.

Isn't that live load though? At least in Vancouver, dead-load is about 1kPa for both office and residential, so subdividing an office for residential can be tricky w/ walls, fixtures and such. I'm no architect, but this has been mentioned a few times by developers, so take that for what it's worth.

However, if you had let her ride on the running board freestyle, she would have very happily done it of her own free will.

(obv too dangerous to allow, but she would've argued for it anyway)

My dog would've shredded that before you had lifted it onto the hooks. And then made you feel terrible with a "I'm not mad, but I'm very very disappointed in you" look.

Yeah, & sometimes not structurally adequate. Living space often has a higher load than office space. Bathtubs, sinks, dishwashers, laundry full of water, kitchens full of heavy ceramic, heavy furniture, etc.

Was in an office that reached the rated maximum load due to extra desks we'd crammed in.

I was kind of hoping for a Canadian Thanksgiving theme involving ostriches somehow. They're not very good at this.
gclhaslett.bsky.social
For some reason - not sure why - this reminds me say Happy Thanksgiving to all the 🇨🇦 on this thread.
gclhaslett.bsky.social
Well, I don't think ostriches think in those terms, to be honest.

Oh, I missed the old RV satellite dish on a camera tripod.

It looks like a used propane heater splashed with some leftover green paint.
gclhaslett.bsky.social
I was not familiar with that one - it's really good!

Overheard from a backpacker in the Kootenays: "I walked miles and miles so I could be enough kilometers away from it all."

I'm convinced. UVic's decision to start using AI writing tutors this year is 100% going to be an fantastc sccess story.

How many of those astral-project to the meet-ups?
gclhaslett.bsky.social
I blame 2025 rather than @avk.bsky.social but there's no reason responsibility shouldn't be shared.

Another sentence that I would never have predicted I would write.

It's an interesting contrast to the ostrich people who didn't seem to accept that "spiritism" and adjacent stuff could overlap or coexist whatsoever with their faith.
gclhaslett.bsky.social
Facebook? Is that the thing that MySpace supplanted?
gclhaslett.bsky.social
I do think it has a superficial resemblance to Beowulf, so I'm thinking the AI used that for its model for some reason.

Was Grendel an ostrich?

You have to admit though, it does make it more challenging than a boring old conventional establishment-approved word search.

Which does suggest they should've included "antidisestablishmentarianism".

If I'm not mistaken, it's Old English.

In the same sense that the German spoken in old WW2 movies is Ancient Sumerian. Or German, for that matter.

The 7s hatred rears its ugly ostrich-head again.
