Getting ready for the Cambridge Retro Computer Festival. Why is it that machines that have recently been working fine suddenly get stage fright. Only 2 of the machines in the photo are working.

The Texas Instruments TI-99/4a never looked so good paired up with an SGI monitor. Pity about the world's worst joysticks. This 99 is extra special as it has a 3 state overclock ramping up the speed to a blistering 4Mhz!

I do like that we now have a high bar phrase. It's not exactly @jamhamster.bsky.social but it'll do.

Very decorative. Found an STL online and resized it to fit.

At last, the final decal is on. Now to fix the insides and add some more @fuzzweed.co.uk inspired LEDs.

I painted the keyboard as it had a green tinge tonit and hadn't been removed by Retrobrite. Pumicing each individual key removed the discoloration and a few layers of skin on my fingers.

Definitely stealing your idea of the underside lighting. I was going to change the original LED for a blue one but may keep it and put red LEDs instead.

I originally painted the keyboard the same colour as the case. Unfortunately the key legends reacted with the paint I used so I had to remove the new paint and the lettering.

My case was already painted before I got it and really needed a dip before attempting the amputation. It's all a learning curve for the next one.

Oooh! That's giving me ideas for my shorty.

Ok, so this is 100% just cos I chopped the power led off, and nothing whatsoever to do with those air slots looking f'ing cool with internal lighting.
My shorty zx Spectrum with a bit of a bluey glow
