Obama: "When you see an administration suggest that ordinary street crime is an insurrection or a terrorist act, that is a genuine effort to weaken how we have understood democracy."

"Homeowners insurance in OK has become the most expensive in the nation. Families are paying $5K to $6K a year on average — nearly 3Xs the national average. Let me say that again: 3Xs more than the national average. For some folks, the insurance bill is bigger than the mortgage." Mark McBride

Disaster Oklahomans are facing isn't in the sky. It's insurance bills.
"We can’t stop tornadoes, but we can demand fairness. That means more transparency in how these rates are set, stronger oversight from regulators and a real conversation."

Ah yes, air traffic controllers must show up for work without pay, but Congress can take the day off. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says he’ll be making “necessary cuts” to the department, because nothing fixes staffing shortages quite like firing more people.

Soon it will be show us your papers. This must stop.
A tweet by James Surowiecki replying to David J. Bier. Surowiecki asks, “Where in the Immigration and Nationality Act does it say that US citizens have to prove that they're citizens or else be arrested?” The quoted tweet by Bier reads, “ICE agents to US citizen: Turn around or you're getting the dog,” accompanied by a photo of a man wearing a face mask and standing near vehicles at night.

"Authoritarianism, it's a cancer. The symptoms are here, today... We thought it couldn't happen here... and now the disease is growing, metastasizing in America. But there is a cure—it requires you. On October 18, Americans will stand up, peacefully, for what makes America, America." nokings.org

This country was built on the attempted genocide of Native Indigenous Indians by predominately white men.
.
A sign that reads, "Colonial History Lied. When Europe showed up in North America, Indigenous people were not nomads, not few, not savage, not impoverished, not recent immigrants, and were not looking for salvation. Yes, Indigenous people had commerce, travel, economics, permanency, stewardship, inheritances, artistry, drama, ceremony, mourning, health care, politics, justice, penance, peacekeeping, and STILL DO."

Baffling to me. Successful white contractors in Texas, whose labor force is 90% Latino. Some can’t even speak English. And they support Trump. They are Conservative Republicans and HATE all democrats who they consider to all be liberal. I am sure this is prevalent throughout the south.
