Rewatching old #CloneWars & #Rebels, it’s fun seeing how Filoni & co took Darth Maul, the aesthetically coolest #StarWars villain next to Vader, who was dumbly discarded, & made him a remix of many iconic villains. There’s mad Gollum, revenge driven Khan from Star Trek, w/ a pinch of Hannibal Lecter

Levar Burton was never cast as “the new Spock” or even a Spock like character. That was clear rage bait to get angry fans even angrier that Spock was now Black. Same shit 40 years ago as now. Only then, there was no internet bullhorn for the loudest assholes. (Denise Crosby was originally Troi tho)

The DC Comics house ad artwork for its ‘90s #StarTrek monthly comics were always better than they had any right to be. Jerome Moore (I think that’s his name?) did most of the covers for this era, and they were always poster worthy.

RIP Sal Buscema. If you grew up reading 80s/90s Spider-Man comics, then you are very familiar with his work. Never as celebrated as his older brother John, Sal nevertheless left his mark. Always a solid storyteller. Today would have been his 90th birthday.
