Today is the birthday of cartoonist Marjorie Henderson Buell (Dec. 11, 1904-May 30, 1993), creator of the Little Lulu comic strip that first appeared in The Saturday Evening Post in 1935. The character went on to success in animation & comic books & appeared in Kleenex ads throughout the 40s & 50s.
