The media should make a point of reporting it this way. We all know that FOX News will dutifully report the opposite.
The core point Democrats must hammer home with discipline. One clear line: “Republicans broke the government, they own the shutdown, and if they want Democratic cooperation, they must offer something worth voting for.” Only with unity does the truth have a chance to take hold against a lie, or lies.

If we're finally going to crack down about lying to Congress under oath, I think there are several Cabinet members and a few Supreme Court justices whose testimonies might need revisiting.
