Happy New Year, #Booksky.

Let's all strive to show a little more empathy and patience this year, especially to those that need it.

Don't conform. Be you.

Do not give a fascist a moment of your time.

NEW: Trump used his first veto to block a unanimously approved Colorado drinking water project.

Lauren Boebert, whose district the pipeline project is in, slammed Trump, suggesting it was retaliation for her signing the discharge petition to release the Epstein files www.9news.com/article/news...

I'd love to do it, but I'm swamped with some much right now at work and home; I seldom get reading time. However, I did want to share this with more people.

I wish you the best, Jaye.

#Bluesky,

As a teacher, I'm on the second week of my holiday break. I'm thankful.

My wife, also a teacher, had a hysterectomy on the 12th. I'm caring for her, a preteen daughter just now getting ADHD medication, a new puppy, and other pets.

I'm not a slow reader...

I can't get time to read.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but opposing GenAI is not about opposing technology, it's about opposing capitalists.

GenAI is not a technology: it's a massive automation of theft, masquerading as an industry, run by grifters.

Don't hate computers, hate the capitalists behind the curtain.

If a man cannot fall in love with ANY man's best friend because of the way he will be perceived, then that "man" is not a real man. That "man" is a manchild.
I mean, if you're in parts of London at least, the larger and actually scarier the man, the smaller, fluffier, and more ridiculous the dog. Only insecure men own scary dogs apparently? (Under these rules, I guess this guy needs a wolf dog to feel masculine.)

I would hope this isn't a dick move, but I immediately block an account that just posts e-book deals, unless it's an author I like.

I suppose, even though I've only been around #Booksky for a short while, I want to keep the area pure of capitalistic opportunity.

Change my mind?

Trump tells supporters in a new fundraising email that if they don’t donate to him within the next hour, Democrats will steal their "tariff rebate checks" and give them to "illegals," that the country is "boiling over," and that only an immediate cash transfer to him can stop total disaster.

I'll never understand why conservatives are so damn fragile about things that aren't happening to them...

If you keep watching Faux "News" every waking hour, you're going to have a heart attack based on propaganda.

I didn't want anything for Christmas because my wife had to have a hysterectomy. However, I did gift myself a Kobo Libra Colour.

Oddly, I prefer to read via e-ink device. I stuck with Kindle for fifteen years, but once I tried Kobo... I couldn't go back.

I also simply dislike Amazon.

I'm re-reading a book that I'll post later, but I'm very happy I gave it another shot. It's hitting the feels very hard.

Has this happened to you recently, #Booksky?

I'm no longer going to be involved with Bookstagram. It's not healthy. I also left Reddit, and I'd never goon around on the Tok.

I hope I can find some mutual friends via #Booksky.

As my handle states, I'm fairly open to any book, but I tend to stick to literary fiction, translated works, etc.

The concentration of wealth in the hands of an elite few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy.

When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, the American people don't have a voice.

The result is demagoguery and corruption.
