Indeed. I still got loads to do and now that I have storage nearer home, I can store the interior while i fix the dash and the floorpan

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!

Good news!
After yesterday's post about the struggles with the E12, I'm happy to say that I have now a date set to have it welded and it should be ready next weekend. Also, the windscreen company called me today to inform they found a glass for my car and are ready to fit it in a couple of weeks!

Yes, it's normal when the engine is running in. Yes, valve stem seals could also be an issue

No, not worth messing with this one. Just going to run it until it goes bang. It was a cheap car to start with and I'll just do basic maintenance and look after items that are safety related such as brakes and tyres. Insurance is cheap

No apparent leaks apart from the one on the gearbox, but now that days are getting darker earlier and lights being used, I noticed a puff of smoke when I accelerate, which I don't notice during the day. It does run well, but I need to check the plugs for any oil fouling.

I found the reason why the Focus oil level keeps dropping. I have been monitoring the level every week and I concluded that is losing around 1l every 3 weeks, roughly 900 miles.

That what i thought as well. Good shout!

Thanks Martin, you already have a lot anyway.
It's not a complicated job, but the way I was fobbed off was unexpected.
After I posted this, I got a lead from someone who had their E12 Alpina done and i've contacted them. it's a bit far, but worth a try.

I've been waiting 3 weeks and they said they are still waiting for the suppliers to get back to them, which i think it's strange. I know it's a not a stock part, but at least an update would be available. I'll try that with Lancaster/KGM

I'm in Horsham, West Sussex. The glass exists and i suggested german suppliers who have it in stock, but the insurance glass contractor can only use certain suppliers. If I get it myself, the insurer won't cover the costs. I'm tempted to cancel the claim and contract the work myself.

Struggling to find a local bodyshop willing to to do the rust repair on the E12. Either don't want the work or say it's too expensive. One suggested to fibreglass the holes myself.
To top it off, the windscreen company can't find a replacement and insurance won't cover if I get the glass myself. FML

I personally think light bars are getting out of hand on most manufacturers, so i think this Y looks better without them.

Just a normal Portuguese neighbourhood. You might spot a handful of special cars too.
Not my photo

Really enjoyed the book corner section of the podcast and will definitely look into the book suggestions

A friend is selling part of his Vinyl collection that has been amassing since the 1970's and these are the ones for sale.
I have to say that I never heard of Matt Bianco before.

On my watch list for later. That's a batgain and the The M54 is a very good engine.
