🇺🇸 The Liberty Bell was cast with the lettering:
"Proclaim LIBERTY Throughout all the Land
unto all the Inhabitants Thereof."
The legend is that it was rung
at the revolutionary victory in 1776.

Perhaps the resistance whistles of the blue cities
could then rightly also be called Liberty Whistles.

We haven't seen such an offense against the 1st Amendment since the 1790s. The Adams administration locked up Ben Franklin's grandson under the Al.en & Sedition Acts for printing true stories about Congress. George Washington approved. See the book American Aurora.
So no one is going to mention that the 4 journalists arrested yesterday all identified as Black?
Am I crazy? Has no one else made that connection? Is this normal? Why is this not making headlines along with the arrests? Where is the outrage?

We haven’t seen many this winter, but a few have dropped by.
Common Redpolls are a small stripey finch that lives in the Arctic. They migrate south, but somewhat erratically, so we don’t see them every winter.
This male redpoll briefly stopped in to check out the foraging situation

Indigenous activists in Indonesia’s Papua say a massive rice plantation was rushed through without free, prior and informed consent.

They warn the food-estate push risks deforestation, land grabs and conflict—repeating past failures—while the government insists procedures were followed.

Editorial: Escalating violence by U.S. law enforcement during deportation campaigns, including the killing of civilians, has shaken domestic trust and deeply damaged international confidence in the United States.
We must hold America to a much higher standard
The images of mayhem and violence that have been transmitted around the world have alienated many others who once looked to the U.S. as a model of democracy.
