Going through my photos and numbering and realizing I went through all that just to get crabapples from this frigging tree
So not worth it
ghostlycorvid.bsky.social
I know I could break them out more often anyway if I was not a coward and sometimes I do legitimately think about it lmao
But unfortunately all the fun ones aren't QUITE right cause of my astigmatism so they're not always the best to wear for office/desk work

Best part of work Halloween event: I finally get to break out my fun contact lenses again

Michigan friends, Michigan citizens, please fight this. For yourselves, and so it doesn't become a model for the rest of the states.

Buried in Michigan's antiporn bill is a provision to effectively outlaw "circumvention tools," such as VPNs.

Mark my words: legislators will increasingly leverage porn panic to restrict or ban VPNs, and to limit internet privacy far beyond adult sites.
Experts raise privacy concerns over Michigan bill targeting pornography and VPNs
Rep. Josh Schriver, the bill’s sponsor, says the law is designed to target only producers and distributors of pornography, not everyday internet users.

Silver lining, learned that my favorite tasting apple of the ones I collected today is from the easiest tree to safely get to and also while I was collecting my samples one of the local cows came over to hang out by the farm fence nearby so I got to go over and see one of them up close finally
A big black cow grazes in a grass field. Its ears are forward in the middle of shaking them while it lifts its head. A couple more cows are in the background.

Courage the Cowardly Dog Voice: The things I do for science.....

The last tree I visited today to collect samples from was set back behind a DENSE blackberry thicket with only a small deer trail of a path into it. It's a miracle I only have a few scratches on only my hands.
A dense tangle of Himalayan blackberry in the foreground. There is a dark spot in the middle where animals or people have managed to forge a semi-navigable path. Behind it is a tree laden with small apples. The ones in best condition are naturally up high. Looking up at the apple tree at all the fruit I cannot reach without being directly underneath which is physically impossible without cutting down the blackberry. MISSION SUCCESS. These tiny bastards were so small they fit between the tines of the harvesting tool and the multiple attempts to actually pull some down when I withdrew the tool is where my hands got caught.
And they didn't even taste super good. >:((((

I forget who it was that rec'd it, but that tiny pet hair detail trimmer is a godsend. It's small enough that it only takes a little at a time so it stops my wobbly hands from pressing too hard and taking off a huge chunk and it's small so it's great for awkward spaces!

Not the best comparison since the hair covers most of it in the right picture but an after and before shaving comparison for Eidolon's head. Most noticable on the ears where I was able to shape the tips better.
Freshly trimmed, more of the fabric is smoothed out and the ears look less gangly Shared the other day, Eidolon head WIP with the hair draped in place. The ears are shaggy and some of the face fur looks choppy and unkempt

Forgot what day it was and stayed up too late thinking it was my last chance for the weekly Skire prompt arts
But no actually I have one more night dkfgjhdfg at least now I can potentially get even more done tomorrow night

Had a lovely day at work where I spent an hour and a half picking apples from a bunch of different trees for historical apple science and also a little treat

(Crabapples nasty)

Damnit I wasted tonight going through sound clips to put on my phone 8')

At least I got Eidolon's ear tufts shaved down and everything vacuumed so I can work more on assembly

Design piece for @nullacaine.bsky.social ! Getting to explore different forms for this character was a blast!
Various forms of a being made of a bonelike shell and liquidy black void. The void forms a multitude of limbs and smoke-like tendrils, and many eyes are visible within it. #art 🖌️

A digital drawing of a frog standing on a bright red background. The frog is holding a sign that says “ICE out of Portland”. The frog looks mad.

Yoooo our ground cam captured a millipede
It's REALLY wild to see how different the perspective is though. I'm pretty sure it's one of the really little guys, but at first it looked like a N. americanus in size which I don't think we even have here

this is how I, a resident of LA, found out that the Palisades fire was arson, that they caught the guy, and that he used gen AI to work his way up to doing the crime

the city of los angeles burned in january in part because of a man who couldn’t stop generating images of burning cities on ChatGPT, and then after he lit the fire he asked if the fire he started was his fault
