For the love of humanity, don't buy kids in your life toys that require a cloud connection, much less anything with AI-powered chat ability.

"...powered by Wi-Fi, powered by artificial intelligence, those types of things are red flags that a lot of children’s data might be collected here.”

What’s behind Silicon Valley’s psychotic break with reality?

Welcome to Apocalypse Capitalism.

As one prominent tech VC put it: “Maybe if you aren’t trying to destroy the world, you’re not trying hard enough.”

I keep reading how the government is worried about depopulation, but even if we somehow increase the birth rate, killing those kids with cancer seems counterproductive.

My colleagues are asking the FTC and state attorneys general to take action against Meta for profiting off ads for scams that cost consumers billions. It's baffling to me that this company hasn't been fined or regulated out of existence.

Taught the second Pilates class. Completely forgot how to cue, count and correct. Apparently I can deliver only one well. Maybe one day I'll get to doing two at the same time.

This may be the first photograph of the mysterious Okka. In Japan it is known as a yōkai, with only a few old scrolls alluding to it.
The reason for its elusiveness is the deadly poison it sprays around it. Those who have been close enough to see it, such as this photographer, have quickly perished.

I've been talking about building long-lived IoT devices for years. And why I hate to see functional devices lose their functionality when a company fails or walks away. This is very much on people's minds with the possible death of iRobot.

It is especially insulting because the government isn't even spending our taxes in a legal manner. And we have to pay them. It's like if your local mob boss added a processing fee on top of whatever money he extorted from you. And that processing fee went to his friends.
So frustrating. Killing a free and easy way for Americans to file their taxes in exchange for a more complicated and or fee-based program from private companies is ludicrous. Why would a government want to make it difficult for citizens to pay their taxes?
IRS Direct File won't be available next year. Here's what that means for taxpayers
The Trump administration has decided not to offer the IRS' electronic tax filing system for free next year, and its future is unclear.
