Chapter Text Ed wakes up with a satisfied moan and an indulgent stretch. He’s heartened by the way his ribs only ache rather than throb, and his knee complains rather than screams. He’s not exactly leaping out of bed like a spring lamb but he’s definitely closer to slinking around like a cat, albeit an elderly one. And that’s a massive step up from the calcified starfish he felt like at the start of this whole journey. As he pulls himself up to sit, little party poppers crack along his spine, like his body wants to celebrate his continual revitalisation.

I've resumed work on chapter 5 of 'Maybe This Time'. My goal is to have it posted by the end of November. There might be another break over December as I'm performing in a pantomime but I am not abandoning this baby. I ain't no Stede! (escape, in many ways, I really am.)
