The Zubimendi song last night was fantastic. Makes no sense. Fun as hell
Himcapie’s song is a banger too

Arsenal have played just one game in Bruges. Let's hope we do better tomorrow than the last time.
We lost 1-6 to Rapid Vienna of Austria in a friendly on 24 May 1953.

This is VAR at its worst, utterly deranged

There is no complete life. There are only fragments. We are born to have nothing, to have it pour through our hands.

Would love to be enjoying this Liverpool game

Several of you made this point about Odegaard, which I think is correct *if* he’s up to starting a big game.

Some of you asked about the LF position too. I love Noni but pretty sure Arteta starts Martinelli to protect Hincapie when Cala goes roaming (as Hazbro says below).
If we want control I can’t see us going with that side. Think the player we most missed against Chelsea was Odegaard, once he came on, we controlled the game even if we didn’t create much. I’d expect Odegaard for Eze. Gabi preferred for his defensive work and for pace in behind Villa’s high line.

More than ever, I think we need to make the game as dull as possible tomorrow. Villa will want chaos, end to end madness suits them.

We need to control, stifle; which we surprisingly didn’t manage at Chelsea.

Injury-wise, Rice is my big concern.

Oh, Arsene.
Wenger describes the 48-team expansion of the World Cup as "natural evolution".

If the other muppets hadn’t got themselves out, Root would still be batting when the Arsenal arrive at Villa Park

Hello friends. Dropping this here to support my son, who has been through some stuff I wouldn't wish on anyone and is channelling his experience into a near marathon in laps around the Emirates for mens mental health charities. Any pennies, or goodwill messages, appreciated! ❤️

This is a very good point re. Timber!

Memory possibly getting confused with the Mos one.
Think Hincapie was unlucky with his booking… Enzo got away with something similar. On the other hand, Mosquera booking was silly and on a par with the Cala and MLS bookings. Timber was not booked so should not be on your list.

One of the things that’s impressed me this season has been Arsenal’s ability to avoid needless bookings.

Why did that disappear yesterday?

Chelsea were ill-disciplined from the start, we could have taken full advantage, but instead several of our players essentially begged for a yellow.

I’d have taken 1-1 before the game, but really didn’t like that performance. Felt like we were second to everything, lacked courage with the ball, silly decisions.

Uncharacteristic, hope it was a one off.

Wonder if the nervousness of the CB pairing rippled through the team.

Where’s all this naivety come from?

Tbh the entire plan for the 10 mins after HT should be to isolate Cucurella.

Red card aside, didn’t enjoy that half.

A couple of players below par (Merino certainly, in first 30 mins), some very silly decisions (the foul throw, the Cala booking).

Understandably nervous passing it out from the back with the new CBs.

Missed a lot of chances to move the ball fwd into space.

Does Reece James play midfield these days so he can spend more time talking to the referee?
