On this day 1978, Arsenal beat Hajduk Split 1-0 in the 2nd round of the UEFA Cup thanks to a late goal from Willie Young who, sadly, passed away yesterday.
Split's right back would return to Highbury in 1997 and stay for 21 years.

The Clarets said "no".

Not sure that the 24th is possible. We've not played a game on 24th December since 1955. It's also a working day which would mean an evening kick-off with public transport pretty much stopped by the end of the game. The police would likely veto this.
