Hi Les, it was nice to see your name in my mentions. We're all OK, thanks for asking. Hope you're OK as well.
On this day 1978, Arsenal beat Hajduk Split 1-0 in the 2nd round of the UEFA Cup thanks to a late goal from Willie Young who, sadly, passed away yesterday.
Split's right back would return to Highbury in 1997 and stay for 21 years.

A fantastic song from a fantastic album by a fantastic singer.
Fantastic.
Not a good day for The Arsenal.
RIP Colin Addison
He was Bertie Mee's first signing.
We no longer have the biggest Willie in the land.
RIP Willie Young.

They way we're defending, they'll score minus one goal tomorrow.
That's 99.9% of Chelsea fans.
In April 1971 Arsenal asked Burnley to postpone their league game due to Arsenal's fixture pile-up in their double-chasing fixture run-in.
The Clarets said "no".
Karma came along and bit them in the arse as a 1-0 defeat relegated them.
It's the meaningless international friendlies that are excessive. Cut them in half and there are plenty of dates.
Not sure that the 24th is possible. We've not played a game on 24th December since 1955. It's also a working day which would mean an evening kick-off with public transport pretty much stopped by the end of the game. The police would likely veto this.
Count yourselves lucky that your mum wasn't a bit of a royalist and you weren't named after a young prince who went on to become a massive nonce.
I'm dressing up as a box of paracetamol that is always opened with the information leaflet folded over the tablets whichever way you open it from.
The media will crucify Arsenal for this.
Not looking good for Slot.
Liverpool's next 3 games:
Aston Villa (6 wins in 7 games)
Real Madrid (12 wins in 13 games)
Man City (8 wins & 2 draws in 11 games)

Arsenal clickbait 1950s stylee. From Gunflash, the official publication of the Arsenal Supporters Club, which is still going strong.
The post-war appetite for football was off the scale. Biggest crowd of the day was 60,000 at White Hart Lane even though they were in the 2nd Division.
In February 1950, a crowd of 29,000 turned up at Highbury to watch Arsenal's reserves play Brighton's reserves. This was more than at Blackpool & Huddersfield in the 1st Division. Here's why.

10 house points for spotting the actual establishment.
I think you'll find it's spelt S-E-E-D-E-D S-O-U-R-D-O-U-G-H
Another resounding success for privatisation.
