Discovered blueberry perogies for the first time. So good! 🥰
Father-in-law served them for dinner tonight along with cabbage rolls.

Was waiting for my next #yegTransit connection for 15 minutes. No one tapped off their ARC card after leaving the LRT. Only 7 of 30 tapped on coming in. The scanner location makes it so easy to ignore. Would having fare gates fix this, to help with both getting revenue and proper ridership stats?

At Edmonton City Hall this afternoon for the Holodomor Commemoration - an event with a very real resonance this year, with Ukraine again under Russian threat. #yeg #yegcc #Holodomor #Ukraine #cdnpoli

Living in downtown Edmonton has been working well for my 77y.o. father in law! The festivals, activities, amenities are so accessible for him! Looking forward to better safety measures on transit so he'll feel safe taking it often once he sells his car! #yegDT #yegCC

Artists & Art lovers!

Time to get geared up for the biggest art event of the year on Bluesky!

Last year we had close to 1500 artists from 25 countries posting original work daily from December 1-24
#ArtAdventCalendar
In its 11th year, #artadventcalendar participants post an original piece of art from Dec 1-24. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, textiles, beading, photography. If it’s art and it beautifies th…

A 15-minute neighbourhood means the husband & I walked to The Italian Centre, get some small produce for meal prep, and discover cool pasta sauce for dinner tonight. Always a great selection of Canadian and Italian products and we're able to stay #ElbowsUp!

“She explained how much Covid could hurt her & how vulnerable it felt to be unable to wear a mask to protect herself.

She was a perfect example of why other people need to wear masks even if they don’t personally think Covid will hurt them”

If you want to honour Alice Wong’s memory, please mask up
Thank You Alice Wong
Alice Wong has passed away and the disability community has lost a leader. I lost a mentor and a friend. The Disabled Ginger wouldn't exist without Alice and everything she taught me.

Shout out to the good #yeg dude in the white United Rentals pickup. You flicked on your hazards, jumped out, and helped a stuck person in a wheelchair get across the street by the Royal Alex before the light changed on him and he would’ve been at risk of being hit. 🖖

Procrastination finally defeated!😅
Finally emailed a compilation of the resident concerns I gathered during the @GiselleForYegCC campaign to the new Councillor & Mayor, like I did in 2021.
Hopefully these concerns get addressed by the new city council! #yegCC

#yegTransit story today: A beggar by my bus stop made a specific request- $ for his ARC card so he can travel without bus drivers denying him or getting ticketed by police.
At the machine by South Campus LRT, I did.
He's so happy that he could travel til his next AISH payment.

Another great experience all day taking #yegTransit!
My rush hour buses/ trains to and from work are on time, are all clean, with working audio announcements & ARC card scanners! There wasn't even delaus due to construction! 😀

Near my house, this single-family-home lot that's abandoned & destroyed in a fire is now having a 7-plex in it. Literally along a main road & by a bus stop so it'll be perfect for people who don't have cars and need a place to rent. Price tag: $2.1 M.

Last night, I dreamed that I was traveling to Nova Scotia and stumbled upon a cafe that had the most authentic Filipino egg pie I've ever had since migrating here! 🥧
The classic style that's at least 3 inches deep! 😄

Visited the newly opened O-day'min Park at night. So far not too bad! Hopefully it gets well-used and well-maintained this winter as it will be the test run on whether it properly serves Edmontonians all-year.

PS: making out by the swings is pretty fun. 😅

PSA: Be careful when driving in the earlier darkness!
A white dog suddenly jumped onto the road when we were driving home from downtown tonight. 😱
It would have been a horrible night if it wasn't for my husband's fast braking.

My husband's 15 year old bike is now winterized and ready for snow and ice again! Studded tires and safe bike infrastructure are what helped him bike to work more often! Here's to a 2nd year of safe winter commutes! #yegBike 🚲

Today's 5🌟 #yegTransit review:
My AM/ PM rush hour buses and LRT is on time!
Re-filling my ARC card was a breeze.
The classical music is back at Corona Station & pedway is clean.
I filed a 311 report for a trash bin for a new bus stop, the ticket was opened promptly!

Call me a bit old fashioned but I love getting the print neighborhood newsletter! 🥰
Here in mine we get them 5x a year. In my former neighborhood the husband and I volunteered to help make it! If yours don't have one, volunteer to help make it. 👍🏼

My husband biked to and from work today. I learned my friend bikes halfway then ride the LRT to work. I took the bus & LRT to and from work. Given road congestion these days, the more people that don't have to drive, the better for those that need to.

My first #yegTransit review post-election.

The LRT was on time, the buses I took were only 2 mins late.
All audio announcements for upcoming stops were working!
Despite the detour, my AM rush hour commute was on time!
Corona Station doesn't have the classical music anymore.
