The TVTropes method of reducing every story down to a series of reusable modular tropes was actually a necessary precursor to and handmaiden of the concept that stories can be built by LLMs

A) Rest in piss, the way this website tried to factor down narrative like math caused incalculable damage to media literacy for a generation
B) Enshittification is my favorite TV Trope
TV Tropes is blocking access to the site not only if you have ad blockers on but location tracking off unless you want to subscribe to their $5 a month/$25 a year subscription plan. Even people who have turned their ad blockers off are reporting the site isn’t working. This all seems like a bad idea
At the end of the series, I read Memories Legion with all of them. So I don't do those in chronological order. Some of them I don't love as much as the others, but I like the flavor they all add to the world.
Similarly, I'm re-reading the Foundation books and likely to hit the Expanse novels YET AGAIN soon. (it would be my 4th or 5th read through? I've lost track...)
Wait, no, Jodie, this IS RAD AS HELL
The wild thing is these people keep painting this picture like he's a damn kid.
You'll be there with many cats who committed the same crime, so the company will be nice
God, there has to be some 501st dude sitting in a Dem seat somewhere sweating right now
Even the character stuff works! It’s light, sure, but it does what it needs to and fits the genre perfectly
“Is it a perfect movie? No, but—“

“Fuck you, yes it is.”

Sums up my feelings on it entirely. Influences and all, it’s just rad as hell and a great time.
And he still has the tattoo, right? That's not a phase if you still have it! You can maybe argue to have grown if you've DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT and have that conversation
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to immediately lock onto her
So you were right.

Godspeed.

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."
I Don't Go Here, as it were, but this is wild shit. Non-competes, alone, are crazy, but this is on another level. Which isn't shocking considering the source, but still

You're writing this down right? Good. As I was saying my car sucked so bad my wife left me. Yes I can spell my name for you.

LMAOOO WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE NEW XBOX HANDHELD COMES WITH MICROSOFT TEAMS AND ONEDRIVE INSTALLED??? this is the fucking goofiest company in games
TRON will never be the "franchise" they want it to be, as much as I love it. But this one even turned off TRON fans with Leto!
In this constant weird place where I know I’m uniquely extremely good at what I do, yet still constantly surprised when others tell me as much.

Probably helps keep the ego in check a bit, but I should be better with compliments/support at this point, I’d have thought.

Drew Struzan's Indiana Jones book covers. Need to work harder on tracking these down.
i.e. at least half relatable!
I'm just sad you haven't seen these before. And also, apparently I need to send you a bunch of clips from him in the 70s because that is an extremely accurate representation of the man.
I got REALLY close to this after my Starfield deep dive recently. It's a constant temptation.
Oh, I see why it went that angle but in the overall narrative it was just a huge dissonance. Which pretty much all the companion stories had to a larger degree than previous games, though Inquisition was pointing that way.

A lot of wonderful writing that failed because of the larger context, for me
