Woke up thinking about knitting. I taught myself and I purl weird. Apparently it's called combination continental. It lead to a lot of confusion because my mom uses continental and I didn't realize the way I do it turns over the stitches so I had to do the knit stitches in the back leg.

I love Christmas lights. it's so cozy! But light pollution is also bad for a lot of critters. So I think limiting the amount of time you light up especially outdoors is important (not just around Christmas). If you feel especially brave you can also try to talk to your neighbors about it :)

The ultra convenience of online and fast fashion shopping culminated in having to do hours of research into garments that don't fall apart in literal minutes. I almost exclusively shop secondhand or try to learn how to make my own clothes. But I need underwear that hasn't been enshittified!!!!

Sometimes the first thing nature makes you say is "what the heck is that?!" In this case, we're looking at a bunch of Jacobson's Giant Scale Insects (Icerya jacobsoni).

This threw me on a tangent of non-eucledian geometry. There's even a paper on hyperbolic geometry in gene expression analysis. Never even thought about this before.
I was wondering how something would look if you increase your stitches exponentially each round in a crochet project. It's a hyperbolic pseudosphere! I almost tried it myself but I found this article: chalkdustmagazine.com/blog/wonders...

Love the new Mina Le video about milquetoast eat the rich movies coming out of Hollywood. How they are giving revenge fantasies without fundamentally taking hits at the status quo and capitalism. youtu.be/aBVRrYlMwUo
