Mmhm… good.
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos now says they will keep Warner Bros’ theatrical model largely the same once they buy the studio.

“When this deal closes, we are in [the theatrical] business, and we’re going to do it… We didn’t buy this company to destroy that value”

Everyone is worried that the Netflix-WB deal (which honestly is a bad idea, but not as bad as Paramount) can lead into “the demise of cinema” (like that’s ever gonna happen!).

But can’t we at least focus on the good things? Like cats, dogs, sunflowers, a rainbow, anything that’s positive?

Look, I agree the WB/Netflix merger is bad and I agree they should not be shortening theatrical windows. But I'm so fucking sick of people always expecting the absolute worst. It's gonna be rough, I'm not denying that, but I just

I just want my timeline to be happier and more hopeful.
I'm so fucking tired of doomerism man

The Muppets did it.
It still amazes how The Muppets foreshadowed Toy Story 4 five years before the movie came out

And yes this was an actual lyric in "We're Doing a Sequel"

I know people are worried about the Netflix/Warner Bros merger, let me clear a couple things up

1. The deal isn't finalized yet as Netflix will have to agree to some terms from Warner Bros

2. If the mergergets blocked by the government, WB will get 5 billion dollars from Netflix via the break up

And here… we… GO.
The Writers Guild of America says the Netflix & Warner Bros merger “must be blocked”

“The world’s largest streaming company swallowing one of its biggest competitors is what antitrust laws were designed to prevent.”

Welp, cue either “As time goes by” or “Merrily we go around” with a TUDUM twist.

Some people are excited about it. Some were disappointed, and some were having their feelings mixed.

Oh well, at least it’s better Warner Bros. under Netflix than the Elisson-owned Paramount.

…now what, then?
Netflix has officially announced they're acquiring Warner Bros for $82.7B

• Claims they will continue to release WB films in theaters

• CEO teases that theatrical length for films will likely be shorter because 'long, exclusive windows aren't consumer friendly'

• Deal won't close until Q3 2026

They’re acting like as if having fun is illegal.

Like really? “Uninstall Mario Kart World”? Is this some kind of obligation?

(Sigh) They can’t let people have fun, do they? And I haven’t even got Mario Kart World yet… 🤦🏻‍♂️
“Because Mario Kart World killed my Grandma ok?”

Geez, Mr. Elisson. You don’t know when it’s enough, eh? Keep dreaming, because Netflix is going to win, apparently, anyway. (Gosh, what a whiner.)

Also, from what I heard of some people, Netflix is the lesser evil of all three bidders the whole time. I should’ve have rooted for Netflix, then?
PSKY'S ATTORNEYS: $WBD "appears to have abandoned the semblance and reality of a fair transaction process, thereby abdicating its duties to stockholders, and embarked on a myopic process with a predetermined outcome that favors a single bidder .."

This is why you should ignore those toxic Superman fans.

You can still enjoy your favorite Superman. Could be Henry Cavill or David Corensweet, or even the late Christopher Reeve.

Don’t you forget this.
Wanting a director you don’t like to be murdered over movies is truly a great example of my other reason for not being down with the DCU. It’s an unambiguously a reward for people who’ve behaved like this since 2013.

Fuck the new Harry Potter show but how about we don't bully the child actors?

Let's not lose the plot, we're supposed to bully JK Rowling and the grown adults who defend her transphobic shit, not the children

Please skip entirely this series.

Don’t you dare hate-watch this series. because if you do, Bloys will greenlight another season. Skipping this entire series or picking another show to watch instead is the way to go.

Though, please respect the child actors. Bullying is bad, Y’know.
HBO CEO Casey Bloys says 'HARRY POTTER' Season 2 is already being written

"We’re going to do whatever we can to not have a huge gap, for the kids, obviously, but also for viewers"

The Warner Bros. bake off has officially begun, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

You know, people hates mergers and consolidation because of massive layoffs, tax write-offs and all that. But if it’s really happening, gosh, I hope Comcast wins.
