Oh…. Test drive Sunlun or Denmark? Hard choice…..
To think 3 weeks ago today we were enthralled by this pair of White Tailed Eagles on Loch Indaal !
So onto Number 2 of the Wine Society Reserve Cask Selection , this time a 1991 from Speyside , A fruity Spicy beast , I initially thought this might be a Glenrothes as it was quite similar to a 1961 / 40yo I had for my 40th Birthday... Excellent sherried Speysider

Tonight feels like a "The Wine Society 30yo Bottlings Night" First off the Original , 1989 Highland . Lovely Sherried Malt , spicy , Very easy drinking , What is it ? Haven't a clue and who really cares ! It is very drinkable and a lovely dram .

Must say I think the 21yo is well priced when viewed next to the 25 and 30yo and other similarly aged Islays, the first edition was beautiful ( bought a back up) looking forward to seeing how this one is . We’d all like cheaper whisky but I’m afraid it ain’t gonna happen!
"I'm not going to buy any #Whisky on this trip...." Famous last words before setting off to Islay for a Holiday ! This year haul (including 3 Prezzies from My Wife and 2 Islay Friends on the left... Much appreciated !!!) , Maybe I'll stop next year.....
Birthday night Meal in the Bridgend Hotel, Food was exceptional. Had Pan Fried Islay Scallops followed by Pan Fried Duck Breast. Finished off with a Laddie 18.
Also bumped into an old #Whisky Friend, Allan Logan, I'm saying old he was just a bairn when we first met at #Bruichladdich Distillery!
Final dram of the night is from across the Loch from where I’m sitting (you can the the blinking lights) , 10yo Port Charlotte from a Fresh Bourbon Cask using the 2nd distillation of the PC Spirit after opening.

Moving North up the coast , this is a stunning old Bunnahabhain, wonderful!

Normally I can't stand PE, There is an off note I can't get over , this one doesn't have it until you add water, was hugely overrated due to it been a (then) closed distillery. I remember been told when it was operating it was regarded as Blending Fodder (which I could see...) .
Moving diagonally across the Isle we next have a 25yo Caol ila

A couple more photos , didn't quite get the focus on the Eagle in the 2nd one but like the background ....
Another mixed day weather wise, went to The Port Charlotte Hotel for lunch. Headed off to Islay Studios to see Mark and Helga before they retire properly in a couple of weeks, Then once again at Loch Indaal we spotted a White Tailed Eagle only this time there were two! Hand held at full 600mm zoom.
I do so miss Toronto , been Ten years , we need to get back soon !
Today has been a loss weather wise but we had one of the best Sunday Lunches for a long time at the Bridgend Hotel and it had Beautiful Braised Red Cabbage ! Spent the night drinking several large drams of the Port Charlotte 18yo , Too dram Drinkable !
