Courts didnt just “start hearing” these cases. Fed’l prosecutors chose to charge “failure of an alien to register” to get a stat, when these folks were almost certainly already detained & in line for deportation. Prosecutors should use their resources for serious crime www.al.com/news/2026/01...

Wow! Yay! The Senate just rejected Trump’s proposed science cuts, voting 82–15 to boost funding for NOAA, NASA, and the NSF. The bill already passed the House 397–28. Strong bipartisan support for science still exists.

One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.
