I want to explain things in more detail elsewhere and I'll probably miss some things but it seems like a good time to make a list of alt text best practice for images of text on social media. So here goes:

1. Include the whole text. The actual text. Not a summary.

A history of the alt text label as I understand and remember it: I'm talking about the little box that sits in the corner of an image on social media with the letters A L T when the image has alt text.

It appeared on Twitter in 2022 IIRC (Before Musk) in response to a user-demonstrated need.
