Hot chicks in your barn right now. At least, pleasantly warm, incredibly fluffy chicks.
Beautiful Greece <3

(It's so annoying when autocorrect changes words to US spelling as opposed to British.)

Listening in to a meeting of radio astronomers: direct-to-cell satellites are SO BRIGHT that even though they're following the rules and broadcasting in their allocated bands, they destroy astronomical observations across a huge swath of frequencies.

Radio telescopes were designed to operate in […]

📷 What lies at the heart of this unusual-looking spiral galaxy? This NASA/ESA #Hubble Space Telescope image shows galaxy NGC 4102, home to what astronomers call an 'active galactic nucleus' 🧪🔭

Today's challenge: modify my "billionaires dropping garbage on us from orbit" talk to be informative for farmers who found actually space debris in their fields, while not scaring the crap out of the grade 5 students who are going to come listen too.

Will the RW media remember the driver and conductor of the Huntingdon attack, and how many lives they saved, the next time train companies try to eliminate staff and they strike, citing passenger safety?

Fascinating world of ancient #glass: This delicate #Roman blue and white marbled glass unguentarium, a vessel to hold oil/perfume, was made from translucent dark blue glass with trails in opaque white. Dating 1st century AD.

💖 What lies at the heart of this spiral galaxy?

The luminous galactic centre of NGC 4102 is powered by a supermassive black hole.

Hubble has returned after 11 years to the spiral to study this region better. Read more 👉 esahubble.org/images/potw2...

The moon is very bright, but there are very faint auroras, too! (The pillars are just barely naked-eye visible, they look amazing in a few second exposure! The red colour on top is completely invisible naked-eye.)
If this isn't a nice, calming scene for your Monday morning, then I don't know what is.
I keep thinking "surely today is the last day I'll get the goats out in the electronet pasture" and then the snow melts and the weather gets (somewhat) nicer again. Not a whole lot of grass left, but the goats (and dogs and llama) definitely do appreciate a change of scenery.

Today is my day to smugly gloat about how I live in a province where we stay on standard time all year long, so I didn't have to change my clocks last night.

Tomorrow is my day to be very frustrated and apologize a lot as I miss all the meetings that have shifted because everyone else's time […]

However, from the Treasure Valuation Committee minutes for 2022, if you count up the valuation figures that were recommended to the Secretary of State in 2022 (that includes finds from multiple years that were assessed in that year), the figure is actually over £2 million…!!!

How do I get myself into this stuff?? 🤣

Trying to interrogate the Treasure figures when everything is reported many years later, and nothing is straightforward.

But, it's truly horrifying...

Greens - Lower bills through nationalising our public services, wealth tax on assets and huge increase in investment in our public services.

Labour - ID Cards, random statements about flags and Austerity 2.0.

But apparently the Green Party are the "vibes era?"

Make it make sense!
Politics is in a vibes era. Nigel Farage and Zack Polanski are proof of that. But maybe Keir Starmer can take positivity from Ruben Amorim.

In 1957, Vance and Pockriss released the song,

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for rainy day

But if you caught a meteor before it hits the Earth, you should use a ziplock bag and get it to a curation facility. Waiting for a rainy day would be the worst action. THE WORST.
