The most wonderful day immersed in prehistoric textiles! Sally Pointer guided us through the history of cloth making, local plants to use and how to transform them into #cordage. We began #nalbinding (needle-binding), an endangered #heritagecraft, and made our own needles from antlers and flint!

An incredible start to the year for Youth Rangers: we welcomed four new team members! A great session cutting and transplanting willow whips. Making the most of the winter sunshine we also enjoyed walking the dragonfly trail. Saw stonechats, heard skylarks and found goat moth larvae burrows!

What was your first wildlife of the day? This is a male winter moth (Operophtera brumata). One of the few moths active as adults over winter and able to cope with freezing temperatures. Who have you discovered today? @wildlifebcn.org @bc-cambs-essex.bsky.social
