Is it hope?

🇮🇪 Ireland just elected Catherine Connolly - a fierce, independent voice backed by Greens and progressives. A victory for people over power.

Sinn Féin’s multi-year budget is being sold as “transformation” - but it’s just more managed decline, more austerity dressed up as stability, not actual reform.

Northern Ireland has always had talent; what it lacked was courage in politics.

Being named by the Belfast Telegraph as a 2026 rising star is more than recognition for Mal O’Hara, it’s proof that values-driven leadership is breaking through.

Trump’s illegal attack on Venezuela is reckless, dangerous and driven by fossil fuel power politics. This is not about democracy. It’s about oil, power and control.

It puts ordinary Venezuelans at risk and drags the world closer to another resource war.

A new year. A clear choice.

We can keep accepting a system that fails most of society.
Or we can CHOOSE HOPE & build something better.

2026 is the year we turn frustration into action.
The year we back fairness, stability, and a future that actually works.

Change is not coming from the top.

When our fresh water systems collapse, along with our food system and environment, people can rest easy in the knowledge that our land was great for business 👍
Stormont knew. They were warned. They did it anyway.

Declassified files show officials knew for decades that intensive agriculture was poisoning Lough Neagh - too many animals, leaking slurry tanks, toxic silage effluent and failed “voluntary” codes.

As we approach the New Year, the Green Party remain on a positive trajectory. The same cannot be said for Reform UK, who are clearly moving down in the polls. (Wikimedia Commons polling aggregation)

The woman who manages the world’s most complex logistics operation is tired of seeing her home melt. She votes for the only party with a serious plan for our planet & communities.

Good to see Santa finally getting on board, even if he’s a few seasons late to the party. 😆

The Executive is back nearly 600 days. It's passed just 5 substantive bills.

Politics is stuck in the trenches while real emergencies - soaring bills, hospital waits, a housing crisis - are left to fester.

It's time to ask: is this good enough for the people of Northern Ireland?

When you do politics on a shoestring, every share, comment and conversation matters. This message is for everyone who stuck with hope this year when it would have been easier to switch off. For people who challenged the status quo and backed their neighbours.

Sinn Féin should stop dodging and tell the truth on fox hunting. Their Dáil vote yesterday exposes exactly where they stand.

Fox hunting is vile cruelty dressed up as sport. Sinn Féin wrap themselves in animal welfare language, then repeatedly vote to protect blood sports north and south.

Imagine a Labour MP using “lefties” as a slur. Shows exactly where they stand - on the right with Tories and Reform.
Yet another crap video from another Labour MP (Josh Simons) attacking me and "lefties."

Showing us exactly who they are.

They serve only power & weath.

2026 - the year of people power.

People seeking safety are not criminals.

It is not illegal to seek asylum, no matter the circumstances. It is a basic human right.

Migrants and refugees are welcome here.

Northern Ireland politics is shifting.

The Greens are now the most popular party among young people, according to the latest polling. Young people know the system is stacked against them while bills rise, rents spiral and services fail.

This polling isn’t about ideology.
It’s about frustration.

People are tired of politics that collapses, delays and dodges responsibility while living costs spiral.

They’re backing a party focused on making things work again.

Back the party fighting for lower bills and stability.

Rent is broken.
Home ownership is out of reach.
And too many parties pretend this is normal.

The rise in Green support reflects one simple truth: people want housing treated as a right, not a gamble.

Back the party fighting for decent homes.
December 17, 2025 at 3:31 PM
People don’t change how they vote for fun.

They change it because bills keep rising, rents are out of control and wages aren’t keeping up.

The polling shows people backing a party that takes the cost of living seriously.

Back the party fighting for lower bills.

Northern Ireland’s fireworks rules are a bad joke. Sticking with the status quo is indefensible when people & animals suffer every year.

Councillor Barry McKee calls it out and push real reform. Organised displays only, strict time limits, proper enforcement.

Culture moves on. Politics should too.

The University of Liverpool poll shows people want real change - a fairer deal for communities and the planet, not more of the same from those in power.

The latest University of Liverpool poll isn’t just about party numbers.

It shows people stepping away from politics built on habit, fear and repeated failure, and towards something that feels serious about the future.

Something has shifted in Northern Ireland politics.

Young people are choosing the Greens.
Former Alliance voters are switching.
People who gave up on voting are coming back.

Voters aren’t drifting. They’re deciding.

The old certainties are slipping. The centre is stalling. The big parties are losing ground.

And the Greens are moving from 1.9% to 5.1%.

This is what happens when people stop voting out of habit and start voting for change.
