What would the Green Party do at the Budget?

💡 Cut energy bills by ending profiteering
🚰 Cut water bills by bringing water into public hands
🏠 Give councils the power to control rents
🚸 Lift the two-child benefit cap and extend free school meals to all

Cut Bills. Tax Billionaires.

While some countries are motivated by greed, and others just hide their head in the sand, some are pushing ahead with plans to stop using fossil fuels completely

The UK should join next year’s talks and be a leader, not an obstacle

The summit, co-hosted with the Netherlands, aims to help countries work out a fair path to stop using planet-heating oil, gas and coal - a sticking point at the COP30 talks in Brazil

On #CarersRightsDay I recognised the countless unpaid carers like my constituent, who work tirelessly and prop up the care sector and NHS, yet struggle financially and emotionally without support.

No one should have to choose between providing care and making ends meet.

Labour says it wants to copy the right-wing immigration policies of the Social Democratic party in Demark

For the first time in over 100 years the Social Democratic party in Denmark has just lost the election for Mayor of Copenhagen – to the Greens

Plans based on ignorant and incoherent anti-trans prejudice could lead to many more women and girls being attacked by bigots who don't think they look feminine enough

The evidence is clear - use of drink/drugs should be treated as a health issue, not a crime

Police can only deal with the immediate consequences of drink/drug related anti-social behaviour, long-term solutions mean providing people with support and care

At what point do you accept that the Labour Party is no longer a force for good?

This is a common sense move. US-style police commissioners never made sense and was a waste of money

But this doesn’t address the key problem – underfunding local authorities to tackle the causes of crime. Fixing that would make a real difference!

So why are so many current Councillors and the Mayor not delivering the service that residents want and deserve?

Britain’s PM is currently in a rainforest in Brazil.

Why isn’t he drawing the links between tropical & temperate rainforests, supporting Brazil’s fund, and setting out plans to restore Britain’s rainforests?
