It’s happening ! Too bad the media in Canada is too obsessed with pipeline drama to focus on the real story most of the time.

Ok it has to be said : the train to ottawa airport is one of the worst pieces of inscrutable transit infrastructure I have experienced. People arriving in your city will never be able to negotiate this. So they won’t. So sad . Hope this can be fixed.

Over 75% of Canadians worry about climate impacts on safety, food, and costs, yet Ontario is on track to miss its climate targets.
Renewable energy is sidelined & fossil fuel projects are getting the green light.

Ontario is moving backwards!

The science is clear that fossil fuel fueled climate change is making heat waves, fires, floods, hurricanes, & extreme weather worse. Yet major news outlets, especially TV news, often fail to name the connection. Demand they do better! sc.org/EndClimateSilence

It's official. 2025 is now the third worst wildfire year on record in Canada. A study from 2018 examining fire-regime changes in Canada over the prior 57 years showed the fire season had been starting approximately one week earlier and ending one week later. Probably longer now.

As Canada's Senate debates whether to give Cabinet the power to decide how and whether certain laws apply to selected projects, thinking about this from @ecojusticecanada.bsky.social's Joshua Ginsberg.
“I think people don't fully appreciate how much of a seismic shift this is in the way Canada is governed. You know, people have certain assumptions that laws passed by Parliament will remain enforced and will be obeyed unless changed by Parliament. This changes a really fundamental assumption, and it's all being done under the guise of an emergency, an economic emergency. And I think people should stop and ask themselves, are we really in a situation where we need to be undermining fundamental norms of the way our democracy works?” – Joshua Ginsberg, Ecojustice
