Why should young people participate in an economy that offers them no hope for the future?

The inter-generational bargain that kept British capitalism afloat has collapsed - and Labour is too busy listening to corporate lobbyists to do anything about it.

As we follow the trajectory of the student at OU who wrote an essay citing zero sources and making no argument, got the instructor fired by claiming her 1A rights were violated, went on a tour of rw media and now seems poised to become a part of the TPUSA speaker circuit: (1/4)

This is why. This student got to write a shit essay, got to bully a minority she evidently hates, got to get a member of that group straight-up fired, got to go out and do softball interviews and now is gonna receive wingnut welfare for a few years. (3/4)

Not every student will strike this bargain when offered. Probably not even that many conservative students. But given these incentive structures, why wouldn’t a non-negligible number of students take this opportunity when offered it? Which is why wealthy donors created it in the first place. (4/4)

The Financial Times finally covers the Network State cult.

Is this tech fascism?

"I mean,we are funding companies that will operate non-democratic cities...and if you're not into that you shouldn't move there," says Peter Thiel protégé Patri Friedman.

What sticks out to me is how absolutely unafraid of prosecution this psychopath is. Part of it is narcissistic personality disorder, but it's mostly the perceived weakness of Democrats. Should they retake power, no one expects Democrats to hold anyone accountable.

These guys have gone all-in on Trump fascism because he accelerates the decline of democracy. And they are lining up their crypto scams and fascist city escape plans.

They are serious.

Note that Roger Stone refers to Prospera, the Network State city in Honduras, as a "freedom city."

Trump wants to build ten of these cities on federal land, and Stone makes it clear that these fascist cities are, indeed, the Network State.
