At no other time in western anime fandom has it been easier to get your hands on quality translations of anime from decades past up to more than a half century ago and I don't see enough enthusiasts taking advantage of that to learn about where the current hotness came from.

Watched Metal Skin MADOX-01. It's certainly deserving of its reputation as a bubble era animation spectacle, it's absolutely gorgeous. Honestly surprised that Kimitoshi Yamane isn't a more prominent mecha designer
