It's actually wild how fully formed and excellent X-Files is right out of the gate in S1. I think our expectation of the 22-episode-per-season era is that it takes these shows years to find a rhythm.
I’ve started rewatching some of The X-Files and it really is amazing that even a bad episode of this is exponentially better than almost anything from the streaming era.

My employment navigator is concerned about my mental health & is sending me to therapy & paying for it. I’m not doing well, am I? That’s probably bad. 😭 They also told me that me being mentally stable & housed is more important than finding a job. Bc I am deteriorating & labor wouldn’t help. 😅

It's not your fault you struggle to validate yourself. You're doing what you saw modeled & what the culture models every day: reflexive invalidation. Understanding validation not as a touchy feely luxury, but rather a nonnegotiable trauma recovery tool, takes time & practice.
