One of the producers on Guilty Gear Strive said it was basically impossible to source player feedback on balance changes online because nobody had original opinions and would just parrot what the most popular content creators said and so they had to rely on data and I think about that every day.

there was this old Warframe bug back when we used Void Keys rather than Void M&Ms where you could use a key infinitely if someone hosted a mission, disconnected on the galaxy map, and someone else got host migrationed

i think one of my biggest fumbles as a writer was when i spent 44~ chapters of a 90 chapter fanfic coding an abuse dynamic without explicitly saying the word "abuse" and then releasing it to the realization that only one person in the entire world picked up on it

i don't know if it's just me getting older or more desensitized but either way my mental breakdown only lasted about 5 hours and the only major casualty of it was that i drank one red bull over my self-allotted cap for the day
