Bray is a historian at Rutgers who received death threats after landing on Turning Points USA's Professor Watchlist. As a result, he announced he was moving to Europe. And then this happened.

This kind of harassment and abuse of scholars is Charlie Kirk's legacy and it's only getting worse.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

Identifying public officials isn't "doxing." People have the right to know who is working for their government. Nor, for that matter, is it "radical left-wing terrorism." So it's frustrating to see platforms caving to these bad faith characterizations. www.technologyreview.com/2025/10/06/1...

Another good example from the season premiere: you can’t change Gosunkugi being Akane’s creepy stalker without fundamentally changing the character

You can, however, change it from “he takes sexy photos of Akane doing gymnastics” to “he tries to get photos of Akane but Ranma keeps posing for them”

We are told time and time again that there isn't enough revenue in journalism, and that's what's causing the crisis. The reality is that there is money, it's just ever more centralized thru the usual forces of late capitalism, giving us ideological travesty like this while good reporters lose work.

Oh, man. After reading the article, what it actually says is that an historian did a lot of archival work and spatial research to determine the site of a killing and then the family of the likely perpetrator stepped forward with photographs to confirm identity.

The ADL thought it could fall in line with Musk and it would stop his attacks on them. Instead, it just made them complicit, legitimized Musk, and ultimately didn’t actually change him at all.

This is how fascists work. Greenblatt tried being transactional: for fascists, it only goes one way.

I mean like yeah we can talk about how the GOP is essentially a fanbase now, but the Trump folks had a whole ass policy agenda of cretinous policies that projected exactly what cruel agenda they stand for (and now they're enacting them with haphazard and ineffective response from the Blue side)

This also just seems like a statistical fluke? 2025 isn't even over yet. It's weird to publish an article about a "trend" that applies to 6 months out of the last three decades.
Right-wing terror attacks and plots exceed left-wing attacks and plots every single year since 1995

Even the approach to this clip is apparent: the goal is to walk through specific talking points, and the means is to continue to steer the conversation back to that point. It leaves the viewer seeing something (largely meaningless) being said, without having to really respond to the criticism

Extremely bleak clip.

Democratic leadership thinks of us as consumers to sell to, not citizens to serve.

A robust policy agenda (and a transparent, democratic candidate selection process) would go a lot further than paying droves of marketing consultants to hash out the same tired approaches.

Head of the DNC is convinced that the only issue they’re facing is their messaging.

Incredible stuff. We will only get to where we need to going when people learn to let these people go as holding any legitimacy. We need a revolution, and that includes from within.

I'm especially interested in these two in particular:
+ The start of the campaign against ISIS
+ The final push of the battle for Aleppo

But really anything that was a really important moment of his speeches during the war is of great interest.

(This is for a final project for a class.)
