We are losing something by having newsrooms where everyone who has more than a few years’ experience has gotten fired. I don’t fault a young writer for not knowing about things that happened before she was born. But now there are no editors to help give context to these stories, either.

With Eric Adams dropping out, let’s remember the craziest low-stake moment of his time in the spotlight: when he named the concert where Curtis Mayfield was paralyzed *before* getting to sing a note as the best concert he’s ever been to.

alex g just sang a few bars of runaway train by soul asylum and called them a st paul band (factually incorrect) and this is hilarious to me because i was literally just telling my friend his song “runner” sounds soooo much like runaway train in parts
