Another week of movies. A Holiday I Do deserves special scorn for its attempt to recoup lesbian relationships and how badly it fared in my local audience of lesbians. You cannot simply find-and-replace "woman" for "man" and end up with a commensurate story.

It's a good talk, but I would object to describing Trump as confused. As usual, to me the Liberal objection is mainly aesthetic. The strength of the petrodollar has since the 70s relied on an assurance that America is militarily able to secure its debts, i.e. drop a bomb anywhere at anytime.

Maybe this is very basic, but I asked my own mother whenever I needed advice on raising babies. This reminds me very much of Graeber observing in Debt that when faced with a debt we cannot repay, we either deify it or invisibilize it. Feminine labor too often doesn't count as labor. Makes me see red

The attacks on trans rights, which are basic human rights, are a terrible injustice and an attack on truth and fact as well. Everyone should be deeply alarmed and it should be disqualifying for a politician to support such discrimination.

Feels like there's some relationship to the observation that needing your robot to be human-shaped really only proceeds from a desire to own a person. The AI fetishist wants a self-directed person to take the place of their own imaginative labor, to hitch to an active brain and just go to sleep.
