This is really the critical point: Firefox is packing its browser with AI slop functions by default; relying on a user actively choosing to turn it off.
That isn't neutral - that is a political and ideological statement that they want more reliance on these tools

Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

one of the reasons ao3 is a not-for-profit entity is BECAUSE it's derivative work based off of someone else's intellectual property! many legal issues come in when you try to monetize fanfiction without removing references to un-owned IP, and it's why having a protected space like ao3 is so valuable
