Train good car bad
The FHS is one of the two or three most successful modern streetcars in the country behind Kansas City and Cincinnati (in the summer)

There are relatively simple changes we could make to it that would let it run every 12 minutes with no added service hours
I knew the First Hill Streetcar had juice when I saw someone got on the very first run ever - the one packed to the gills with dignitaries - with two full bags of groceries, like it had been running for years.
"The First Hill line is now twice as productive as the overall Metro bus system"

This trend suggests the next game will be 69-9 Seahawks and will take place on January 31st

In the Seattle area this rhetoric is largely relegated to irrelevant suburbs, not the largest city in the super region
Supervisor Hahn points out that opposing the clean-up bill (SB677) kinda results in supporting the original bill (SB79). Calls Metro proposed SB79 amendments "way out there." Metro staff keep saying that SB79 makes people oppose Metro projects.

Could a Cascadian Autonomous Zone, comprising the land west of the Cascades in Washington, Oregon and Northern California, be the response to ‘intolerable acts?’ CDN guest writer, Omar Firestone argues a CAZ would provide security for its citizens by negotiating mutual self-defense pacts.
Guest Writer: If the national divorce gets uglier, let's push Washington to be 'autonomous' | Cascadia Daily News
How about a 'Cascadia Autonomous Zone' in response to 'intolerable acts?'

Yeah, this is not how you lead. You need to hit the ground running
I have to admit, I really did not expect that we'd get to January 12 without an Executive Order or a major policy rollout from Katie Wilson's office.

This is a huge step forward toward what will be one of the most transformational transit openings of our lifetimes

In very few places are there two large population/job centers which are connected as tenuously as east and west King County
Next month Sound Transit will begin simulated service across the bridge. During this phase they'll run trains as if in regular service to validate operations and systems.

✅ During simulated service ST intends to welcome passengers on trains between International District/Chinatown and Lynnwood. 3/6

I am currently writing an article on how bus access to Judkins Park Station should be improved, however in the meantime I took some time to write something short about the FWLE bus restructure

The cruelty is the point
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Welp, looks like we are going to Olympia
Ferguson proposing $3 billion in bonds for highways and vehicle ferries and then proposing to divert hundreds of millions in Climate Commitment Act dollars a few days later is such an incredible one-two punch.

Wow, he really did a 180 on this one.

Like, good, but it would be nice to have a governor with both good morals and a spine rather than neither
BREAKING: I support a Millionaires’ Tax on income over $1 million a year.

The fairness of our tax system ranks 50th. Let’s make this historic change this session.

This is a separate proposal from the budget I announced today — revenue would not be realized until 2029.

Ready to start seeing more trains on the I-90 floating bridge?

We’re starting pre-revenue operations on the 2 Line’s Crosslake Connection 🚊
