Trump is too busy playing MAGA Mad Libs instead of answering how to help Americans make ends meet.

These aren’t the words of a leader who actually cares.

When the Supreme Court allowed immigration agents to consider race during sweeps, Justice Brett Kavanaugh said that citizens shouldn’t worry because if they’re detained, agents will “promptly let the individual go.”

For these Americans, that wasn’t true.
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And…

I see that CBS chose not to air this part. It probably explains much of what they did decide to air.
Any facts there or is just his usual lies?

I tuned in to the @60minutes Trump interview with low expectations, and I haven’t bern surprised. Norah let Trump lie and lie with barely any pushback or provision of corrective facts. Where is the Aussie guy from @axios when we need him?
There’s no incentive for him to stop lying if the networks keep letting him do it.

Watching CBS interview with Trump and pleading once again: stop interviewing this guy. He will filibuster (lol) and lie and avoid answering; he’ll broadcast further misinformation. No one is a good enough interviewer to crack him bc it is not really an interview.

Today in history, 1983: Reagan signs the bill establishing Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a federal holiday. The holiday was first observed on Jan. 20, 1986. Reagan opposed the law, but the bill passed both houses of Congress with a veto-proof majority. /1

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

This traitor was not only a Confederate general who fought for the destruction of the U.S., he may have been involved in the development of the murderous KKK after the Civil War which terrorized Blacks seeking elective office & voting. What a disgrace to put his statue up again.

the problem here is more fundamental: congress has not declared war against Venezuela, nor has the admin shown that these people are acting on behalf of Venezuela and attacking the U.S. so there’s just a basic lack of constitutional power here.
The Justice Department told Congress this week that President Trump could lawfully continue his lethal military strikes on people suspected of smuggling drugs at sea. The move rests on the idea that a Vietnam-era law called the War Powers Resolution does not apply to airstrike campaigns.

The move deepened the idea that a Vietnam-era law, which says congressionally unauthorized deployments into “hostilities” must end after 60 days, does not apply to airstrike campaigns.

There’s no incentive for the White House to comply since there’s no enforcement. DOJ and the Supreme Court (R) will let Trump do whatever he wants.

This might be the one that breaks me. Every federal agency reduced to banana-republic personal fiefdoms where criminal Trump allies loot the public and fire vastly more qualified people for daring to do their jobs. It’s unthinkable. It’s obscene.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.
