Update: city council approved $1 million to cover training for recruits in January. It is not the $4.4 million LAPD/mayor wanted, but more funding will be discussed next year.
LAPD went ahead and hired more cops than what was budgeted, now the mayor and LAPD are demanding city council cover the costs. It will defund the rest of the city in the process.
