It’s not about the cheese. It’s about the fun.

You may know me as Rotties.

Tell me you’re hosting 18th birthday parties this week without telling me…

I didn’t watch the second half of the rugby.

Cross country skiing is wild. Who decides to be a skier, but UPHILL?

This machine is THREE WEEKS OLD. Sigh.

Turned off Today. I cannot believe the fawning over the King and Prince William. Saying, AT THIS POINT, that they’ll help the police, is not the bold and brave move the sycophants on R4 seem to think it is.

Completely deactivated my X account this morning. I haven’t used it for over a year, but now it’s like I was never there.

I don’t hate rugby.
But I hate that I love rugby.

I am wearing red knickers and a red bra under my Wales top. At least if they lose this afternoon I’ll know I’ve done my bit.

Friday dance is the Biggarena, in the hope it will inspire Wales to their previous greatness. There are power cleans at the gym today, the child has discovered her gym mojo, and tomorrow is my favourite and also least favourite fixture.

I’ve lived in Penarth for nearly 5 years now, and hearing people speak in *my* accent still makes me happy.

A DVD player arrived today. Husband explained that we are diving back into olden days technology so we can watch Grand Slam before the rugby starts next week #wales

We’re having a Friday Dance. February - the best month - is almost here, it’s barbell overhead at the gym today, and as of this morning the child has unconditional offers for her top two uni choices.

How is it STILL January?
January 29, 2026 at 8:38 AM
I ran a trail 10k this morning in pissing rain, after completely ignoring the need to train for it, but I also made these Yorkshire puddings, so I can’t decide which achievement I am most proud of.

Child’s first uni interview. I think I am more nervous than she is.

Baffled at people turning up here saying they can’t use X anymore, a full year after Elon’s Nazi salute. Almost like they needed to wait for a problem that might affect them personally.

Went to a sauna in the woods yesterday. 10/10 would highly recommend. Even the cold shower was nice.

First Friday dance of 2026. It’s barbell at the gym today, Smalldog has settled in like he’s always been here, and the child has heard from all of the unis she applied to.

Planning a day out in Cardiff for the child’s 18th birthday (waaaaaay off in the distant future, obviously). Part of me is a bit cross that there is a rugby international at the stadium that day. The rest of me feels that it is quite on brand…

I’ve had such a lovely day. Sandbags and pull ups at the gym this morning, a long walk around the lake with my friends and the dog’s new friend, watched the sun set from a beer garden on the beach, and now I’m on the sofa with the most cuddly dog in the world.

First full moon dip of the year today. The problem with doing the January one is that now there will be pressure to do the next one, and the one after…
Felt amazing afterwards, but getting in was emotional

Just watched Design for Life from 1999 at the Millennium Stadium on YouTube. Made me a bit teary - I was the exact age that the child is now, and she is off having a great time with her mates, and I’m sitting at home with the same boy I saw in 2000 with. Life is hard, but also good.

And this equally spectacular Very Good Boy had an absolute ball. But is unlikely to be awake to see in the new year.
