It’s not about the cheese. It’s about the fun.

You may know me as Rotties.
There is a certain fear that only comes when you let a rescue dog off the lead for the first time. Like ‘Will we be back at the rescue this afternoon looking for a new dog?’ But this boy was very good.

Jammed my finger at the gym yesterday. At what point will the throbbing stop, and am I going to lose the nail? (Apologies. Hideous hand photo.)

Two weeks ago this dog lived in a kennel at a rescue. He seems to have settled in quite well.

I have been doing CrossFit for almost four years, and this morning I did my first kipping pull-up. I was starting to think it would never EVER happen. But here we are - 43 and learning new stuff.

It is very nice to have Sunday mornings with a dog in the bed again.

Off to collect the de-bollocked dog.

LOOK AT HIS FACE!

This seems a bit unfair when actually he is being a Very Good Boy

Welcome home, Smalldog. (He is actually quite chonky, but loads smaller than any of his predecessors)

Had the best time at the gym Christmas party last night. Danced for hours. And today we bring Small Dog home. As weekends go this is pretty good.

Our local rugby club burned down last weekend. They were meant to be playing a club match at home this weekend - Cardiff RFC have given them use of the Arms Park for the match, and the WRU are paying for five coaches to take supporters to the game. This is why I will always love rugby.

Tons of work to do today. Am bunking off early to have early Christmas steaks with my MIL and the child, so I got up early … and went to the gym to do weightlifting class.

Off to take this boy for a walk

Last ever parents’ evening today. 14 years of being told she’s talkative, as if I hadn’t noticed.

I didn’t watch the rugby, because there is no need for that sort of negativity in my life. H just messaged me from the pub saying the Springboks were bowled out for 73 and Wales are in to bat next.

In April I was adamant that was it, and there would be no more dogs. It’s taken 8 months but yeah, we’re getting another dog.

Tell me you were hungry after squats without telling me…

I was always a weird lunchbox mum, although I did occasionally let her have a little biscuit. But only on Fridays.

In the 90s my mum embarrassed me with her rejection of ultra-processed foods – but the growing body of evidence about them is vindicating her, says Guardian columnist Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett

Obviously, we were crap today. But good enough.

I am not ashamed to say I have cried in the pub today. I was starting to think I would never see Wales win another rugby game.

That’ll do. The end #WALVJPN

Off to the pub to watch the rugby in low rise boot cut jeans like it’s 2003.
And, just like 2003, I have zero expectation that Wales will win.
