What a shambles!

I am furious that Labour has postponed Sussex's mayoral elections until 2028 - wasting public money, council officers' time and throwing away detailed plans.

It's blatant incompetence, so this morning I challenged the Minister about it in Parliament.

Nigel Farage denies that he’s going to do a deal with the Tories, but then there’s this:

100% of Reform MPs ARE EX-TORY members;

616 (67%) of Reform’s 924 councillors are EX-TORIES;

21 EX-TORY MPs have defected to Reform.

Vote Reform, get Tories!

The coming year will mark a decade since the Brexit referendum. So you might expect there to be much discussion in 2026 of the consequences of the rupture. Yet it is now barely discussed

At last week's #PMQs I pushed the PM to say what his plans are to urgently get people home from hospital but are stuck there because of our failing social care system...

...he had no decent answer
The Prime Minister’s reply dodges the crisis facing our hospitals: blocked beds, limited social care, and services overwhelmed.

Reforms in 2026 won’t help patients stuck this winter, action is needed right now.

Try going days without water. That’s what people in Tunbridge Wells have had to do.

Families, care homes and schools are in limbo while South East Water still can’t say when this will be fixed. Thank you Mike Martin for stepping up and holding those responsible to account.

We know there are many Labour MPs who support this in private. Will they be allowed to support it in public, in the vote in parliament?

The ASGSF is a lifeline for adoptive children and their families.

I pressed a Minister on it's importance. While he agreed that a 5% breakdown rate is too high, he failed to recognise the crucial role the ASGSF plays.

I’ll keep pushing the government to reverse its cuts.

The Argus has written up last week's visit to Downing Street where we presented a petition to save the IB.

The Government's attempt to override local councils is as undemocratic as it is destructive. I spoke out in Parliament to criticise this blatant abuse of power and call for councils like Richmond upon Thames to be left alone to run themselves in the most effective way possible.

Well this is the most chaotic run up to a budget ever. The OBR published their forecast based on the budget half an hour before Rachel Reeves stood up to give her speech!

This allowed Ed Davey to give his comeback to the budget tax hikes in PMQs before the budget speech even started!
