A Common Buzzard perches side-on on a bare, lichen-speckled tree branch against a clear, pale blue sky. The bird’s sturdy brown body shows mottled and streaked cream underparts, with darker brown wings folded neatly along its sides. Its broad tail hangs straight down, and strong yellow talons grip the branch firmly. The buzzard’s head is turned slightly toward the viewer, revealing a sharp, hooked beak with a yellow cere and a piercing dark eye that gives an alert, watchful expression. Sparse twigs frame the perch, and the uncluttered background emphasises the buzzard’s poised stance, powerful build, and calm dominance as it surveys the landscape from its elevated lookout.
