I think a lot about Parmy Olson's observation that AI companies actively push everyone to talk about existential risk, because it distracts from more prosaic current day concerns like copyright theft, conditions for data workers, energy & water use, and their financial situation

In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Generic error messages are so frustrating. Give me a clue as to whether it's a permissions or firewall issue or something else that I can fix. I shouldn't have to bother support because computer says no but refuses to give a reason why.
