Oh man, this is really gonna take a while to stop affecting me, isn't it?

The flipside of this, I realise, is that when friends were being really really lovely to me, they weren't doing it because I was having a terrible day – because they didn't know that until I told them – they were just acting like that because that's who they are
It is strange how when it feels like everything's collapsing around me, the world is just marching on as normal. Anyone trying to get in touch me with has genuinely no idea of what's going through my head. It's just like any other day.

How's this for NHS bureaucracy

When I was leaving the hospital, a doctor/nurse came up to me with a leaflet and said “there’s a leaflet on what to do in the event of a mental crisis… I can’t give it to you because you don’t live in this borough”

Has anyone written a good piece on why the soft left failed to learn the lessons from Owen Smith's 2016 leadership campaign?

Woke up at midnight last night, completely unaware of where I was (I was at home, but it took what felt like forever to realise that). So scary.

It's been a time.

Is it not common sense, if you are going to call for the Prime Minister to resign, to make sure that you either have others who will follow you, or that you are significant enough that you alone will be enough?
February 10, 2026 at 8:56 PM
Struggling to get back into my bank account and don't know if this is going to end well or really really badly and I'm so scared

Waiting for a new phone to arrive so I can (hopefully) add Google Pay to it and go and buy some food

Please, Royal Mail, you're my only hope

Starmer actually needs to be *less* inclusive, in that he needs to stop including friends of paedophiles www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

When I was in hospital for a serious mental episode, when I was calm enough to leave, I was approached by the doctor/nurse who was holding a leaflet about dealing with a mental crisis - and she said, "we can't give you this because you don't live in this borough"

Gotta love NHS bureaucracy

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Starmer gives the job of Cabinet Secretary to Sue Gray

Horrible couple of days.

But I've never been more grateful for the friends I have, both nearby and further away.

I am so, so lucky.

I'm such a fucking idiot. Phone and wallet stolen. Entirely avoidable circumstances. I'm such a fucking idiot, did I mention?

Anyway, the police found me and took me to hospital where I spent the night.

Personally I love Morgan McSweeney

Worst thing about no longer being on Twitter is I can't retweet an old tweet from 10 years ago saying "Keir Starmer has resigned!"
February 7, 2026 at 8:37 PM
No Cabinet resignations over the Scandelson.

Nor were there any when Starmer appointed him.

Seriously though there has to be one great Labour MP who's been hiding somewhere for the last decade or so who has the experience to run for leader
February 6, 2026 at 3:38 PM
On Labour leadership speculation, is there anyone like, say, Emily Thornberry (not necessarily her!) who has been a potential/actual candidate in the past but is now out of the limelight and so not mentioned?
February 6, 2026 at 11:57 AM
In Chuka Umunnas, how long do we think Angela Rayner's leadership campaign would last?

I would watch the new Muppet Show. I really want to. But... I just can't watch anything with the Bad Kermit.

Look, I'm not a massive Blairite, but I really love Alan Milburn's voice.
