edit: turns out the guy in the story is a nasty horrible racist prick. Naturally the BBC did not feel this was important to disclose. But it absolutely is, he is not just "some guy" he's a racist media figure.

Well they do that everyday. But my point is - when does an immigrant to a country become part of that country? The progressive answer should be "when they consider it their home". Not trying to be a dick, but I do find it fascinating who is and who isn't allowed to be Scottish y'know?

She's awful, I know, but she clearly loves Scotland. And Scotland loved her and claimed her as their own up until she went very very wrong and then suddenly she's irredeemably English. It always makes me chuckle.

Sorry, but the suggestion that Scotland - a wannabe colonial power on it's own terms, and later a willing and outsized beneficiary of the British Empire's slave trade - is in any way being "colonised" by England is grossly offensive.
