It's snowed again, but wet and slushy.

Going to buy groceries yesterday involved a lot of sliding, balancing..

Today it's wet slush sandwich - with ice underneath.. 🫠

Debating whether to dog walk - snow is melting, too slowly and slippery AF. Blanket of live cats making that decision for me..

My long-legged gazelle creature for #wolfwednesday

It snowed all day, I finally got to use the "good" snow boots bought on sale 3yrs ago, and languishing in a box ever since..

Not very far though. Didn't feel well, don't overdo it.

While I was admiring the moon, my dog was thoroughly investigating this one specific clump of grass.

I've got about 10 photos of her moving about to sniff it from various angles, these are just the funniest.

No idea what's so interesting... (mole?)

Unfortunately the valley below is where the big organised Autumn boar hunts happen, which is why we're been avoiding it for a while..

Oh yay, Lusha got attacked by someone's unleashed dog. AGAIN.

(She's OK, but the owner was nowhere in sight, and I was yelling for a full minute before she found us.

(The dog of course completely ignored her, it took the boyfriend arriving / both of them to finally haul it off my dog)

Andrew Kadel @DrewKadel@social.coop My daughter, who's had a degree in computer science for 25 years, posted this about ChatGPT on Facebook. It's the best description I've seen. Something that seems fundamental to me about ChatGPT, which gets lost over and over again: When you enter text into it, you're asking "What would a response to this sound like?" If you put in a scientific question, and it comes back with a response citing a non-existent paper with a plausible title, using a real journal name and an author name who's written things related to your question, it's not being tricky or telling lies or doing anything at all surprising! This is what a response to that question would sound like! It did the thing! But people keep wanting the "say something that sounds like an answer" machine to be doing something else, and believing it *is* doing something else. It's good at generating things that sound like responses to being told it was wrong, so people think that it's engaging in introspection or looking up more information or something, but it's not, it's only, ever, saying something that sounds like the next bit of the conversation.
