Please be aware that Nazis will be marching in central London today, with a rally in Westminster/Whitehall. There will be a counter-demonstration too. I can’t believe I have to write this in 2025, but please take care and avoid the area unless you are on a stewarded anti-fascist demonstration.

News of racist and sexist abuse from Barnard Park, Islington’s least welcoming green space. It was the only space in Islington afaik to have George Crosses lining the road last week. Coincidence, anyone?
Islington Council and MPS Islington have stepped up patrols.
Highbury and Islington station seems to have opened, and Mildmay and Windrush trains are running. No service on the Victoria line nor the Northern City (Moorgate) line.
Highbury & Islington closed until around 7:30am. Mildmay and Windrush trains are running but not stopping ar H&I. Northern City line trains to/from Moorgate are not running until at least 8:15, and not clear whether the deep level platforms at H&I will be open.
In some versions of TfL’s info systems, H&I might open at 7:30am, for Mildmay and Windrush trains. Not clear whether Moorgate line platforms will be open.

The woman is believed to have left in this car after the incident. I understand that this has been reported to the police.
Story of a phone snatch on the Fields yesterday, a white brown-haired woman in a green jacket, pinching a phone then driving off in a silver/grey car. Get in touch if this rings any bells.

We’re living in increasingly divisive and uncertain times, and I know the worry and concern that this is having in our communities.

That’s why I’m committed to working in close partnership with communities and the police to ensure everyone in the capital feels, and is, safe and welcome.
